When exposed to art in an effective way, children can learn that pursuing artistic ways of expression can give them a process to explore their feelings and experiences—when they are at therapy sessions or when they are at home or school. With the continued encouragement of adults who support the child to follow artistic pursuits, a child can be inspired to find new ways to express emotions, become more self-aware, and discover a pathway to healing.
